What is Stretching Course

STRETCHING IN YOGA COURSE

Do Forward Bends help increase flexibility in our hamstrings? Can we stretch our muscles longer? How much flexibility do we need?
Join us for this in-depth workshop that explores the questions and movement science behind stretching as well as providing you with practical flexibility exercises and techniques to help your Yoga practice.

STRENGTH FOR YOGA COURSE

Strength requirements for Yoga Poses are often completely overlooked in Teacher Trainings and in the Yoga Classroom itself. How much strength do we need for a Downward Dog, Chaturanga, Arm Balances  or Handstand? We will look at the different types of strength needed for different poses and work through practical ways of building up that strength inside and outside the Yoga Classroom.

Yoga Pose Analysis Course

YOGA POSE ANALYSIS COURSE

A 60 minute workshop that will show you how to break down a Yoga Pose into strength, flexibility and skill needs. You will also learn how to assess the needs of individual poses against your own body’s strength and flexibility. This is essential for your own practice, for teaching and must be done before the Peak Pose Sequencing module.

YOGA PEAK POSE SEQUENCING COURSE

There are many different ways of sequencing a Yoga Class. Peak Pose Sequencing is an intelligent sequencing system where we learn to put a fun flow Vinyasa class together to meet the needs of a Peak Pose, a more complex pose that is intermediate or above.  We look at Forward Bends, Backbends, Inversions, Arm Balances and Twists. This workshop also includes 4 Peak Pose Teaching Sequences.

Core in Yoga

CORE IN YOGA COURSE

What is Core? Do we need Core for Yoga?  We look into popular opinion of what Core means and question why it is thought to be essential for all movement. We delve into the movement science behind core, and use science to help us determine what our muscles are doing in Arm Balances, Inversions and Backbends.

SHOULDERS IN YOGA COURSE

We use our shoulders a huge amount in Yoga. Our arms are up in Standing Poses, we use shoulder strength for Downward dog and Plank,  and shoulder flexibility for Backbends and Binds. This workshop takes an in-depth look at how the shoulder works in yoga, as well as practical methods to increase strength and flexibility for different poses.

THE WRISTS & ELBOWS IN YOGA COURSE

Most of us arrive in Yoga without ever having born weight on our wrists, and we find ourselves often in a Vinyasa class where a lot of time is spent on our arms. We look at the ranges of motion of the wrist, what we need for different Yoga Poses and how we can build wrist resilience over time.

THE LEGS IN YOGA COURSE

A strong Yoga practice requires us to develop strength and flexibility in our legs, specifically our hamstrings and quadricep muscles. We take an in-depth look at what the actions of these muscles are in different poses including Backbends, Forward Bends and Standing Poses from basic to more advanced poses.  You will also learn how to train and develop resilient flexibility and strength in these muscles.
